The iGX engine with its electronic control unit opens a new variety of possibilities.
One of them is to give feedback about the load condition of the engine. This can be done by means of a simple comparator device.
With mechanical controlled engines, overloading can easily happen by the user or by the machine on which it is mounted.
The main benefits of preventing overloading the engine by the user or the machine drive systems are :
* constant quality of work done
* less stress on the machine
* less engine rpm and power drop
* prevent engine stalling
* feedback of engine loading to the user
The system works in the following way :
A small electrical comparator unite is added between the iGX and the machine and user.
The device continuously compares the iGX load feedback signal with a reference value which can be set by the customer or OEM.
When the iGX feedback signal is exceeding the reference value the interface can :
* actuate a mechanical or electronic switch on the machine to reduce the load for a short time
* give a proportional feedback to the machine
* sound an audible or other type of warning signal
* give a continuously indication of the load to the user by means of a display of any type
When the signal drops below a set level everything switches back.
This interface can be a simple analogue circuit or a microprocessor based one.
Typical applications that can benefit from this device and fully utilise the iGX potential are concrete cutters
driven or manual, wood chippers, sawmill applications, snow throwers, but it can be used with any type of
machine
The electric power supply for the device can come from a battery or from the engine power coil or charge coil with
switching voltage regulator without battery.
